The Rutherford County Board of Education declared a certain portion of the old R-S Middle School Property as surplus (resolution attached). This property must be offered to the Rutherford County Board of Commissioners for potential acquisition prior to disposal. The County has shown some interest in acquiring the surplus parcel. A resolution is presented for the Board’s consideration authorizing the County Manager, County Attorney, and staff to negotiate the terms and conditions of an agreement for the purchase and sale of this surplus parcel. The agreement would be presented at a future meeting for the Board’s approval.
