At the September 8, 2025 meeting the Board adopted a resolution which approved the County Manager working with the County Attorney, Planning Director and Finance Director to negotiate the terms and conditions of an agreement with NCDOT for the installation of Home of Lynk Robotics Club 2024 & 2025 State Champions on the County US HWY 74 Welcome to Rutherford County signs. The resolution was forwarded to North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).
NCDOT has advised that the resolution does not mention there being a maximum of 3 years that the sign may be installed. Also, the wording of the sign has changed slightly to read “Home of LYNK Robotics 2024, 2025 State Champions”. The County will need to be update the Resolution to specify a maximum installation of three years for the dated sign (see attached Welcome To Signing Standard Practice Page 2, Bullet 2), as well as have the wording of the sign changed. An updated resolution is attached for the Board’s consideration.
