The construction of the new US Highway 221 has resulted in the altering and changing of numerous roads within Rutherford County.  The Town of Rutherfordton submitted to the E911 Addressing Department petitions to change the street names of a portion of Rock Road to Katydid Court, Long Road to Hillstead Way, Old US 221 to Harmony Ridge, Laurel Hill Drive to Veterans Run, and Laurel Hill Drive to Promise Lane.  The estimated cost for the proposed changes has been received from the Town of Rutherfordton.  A public hearing will be held to hear comments regarding these proposed changes.  An ordinance approving the road name changes is included for the Board’s consideration.
