On November 2022 Rutherford County acquired the former grocery store located at 145 College Ave to house several County Services including the Revenue Dept, County Library, Veterans Services and the Board of Elections. Additionally in Nov. 2022 following an RFQ and interview process, the County authorized contracting with Upland Architects for professional services on some projects including 145 College Ave. Over the past year design work and construction documents have been accomplished in support of renovating and upfitting this facility to move these services to this location. Formal construction bids were opened at 3:30 Tuesday, Apr. 30 for this project. The staff recommendation is to contract with Beam Construction as the low bidder ($9,000,000) for the project
