Rutherford County Transit has been honored with the 2025 NCPTA Rural Transit System of the Year for the second consecutive year. This time, the recognition was awarded collectively to all Western North Carolina transit systems in acknowledgment of their heroic efforts in evacuation and recovery operations following Hurricane Helene.
