Revenue Director Sherry Lavender will present the Schedule of Values, Standards and Rules for the 2019 reappraisal. A notice will be published in the paper regarding the presentation and advising that the SOV is open for public inspection. A public hearing to be held at the September 4 meeting will be advertised. The adoption of the schedules could take place at the following meeting on October 1st. This would then allow for an appeals period of 30 days until November 5.
GS 105-317(c) which is attached requires at least 21 days between presentation to the Commissioners and adoption. Based upon the proposed calendar and timeline, this would allow 39 days. It also requires at least 7 days between the public hearing and adoption. The proposed calendar and timeline would allow 26 days. A proposed calendar depicting the timelines is also attached.
