Notification was received from the North Carolina Department of Commerce (letter attached) that Rutherford County has been awarded $631,667 of Community Development Block Grant funds for the Neighborhood Revitalization Program. Grant funds will be used to assist individual low-to-moderate-income homeowners receive home repairs to improve conditions that pose a serious and immediate threat to the health and welfare of the neighborhood. Assisting with the grant are a number of area nonprofits and public and private housing-related organizations with a common goal of improving housing for all residents of Rutherford County.
